It's online, but Is it on Target? part 3

It’s online, but Is it On Target?
Part 3
Dot – What?
Look at the site’s address. What follows the dot?
·        Dot-com is not only for business; anyone can use it. Dot-coms include well- known and respected companies, but also private individuals.
·        Dot-org usually indicates a not-for-profit organization. Many dot-orgs unbiased information, but others have political agendas, focus on debatable issues instead of facts, and might not present present all sides of an argument.
·        Dot-gov indicates a government website at the federal, state or local level. The federal government is a good source of statistics, and its sites are widely considered among the most reliable.
·        Dot-mail is used by sites that are a part of the military.
·        Dot-edu usually indicates a university website. While its published research is generally considered very trustworthy, anyone associated with the university, whether a world-reowned scholar or a freshman, can be given space on its server. Professors sometimes put student course work up on the web, but that doesn’t mean they’re vouching for the information accuracy.

Reading

Reading
5 Tips- for Success
Tips 3-4
Tip 3: Do the Research
Literary critics have written vast numbers of analytical and critical pieces on countless books. If you’re having trouble understanding a particular text, do some research and see what knowledgeable sources have to say about it. In addition to increasing your comprehension, you’ll also be showing initiative, something teachers always like to see. Always use legitimate and scholarly sources, not condensed study guides. Going the extra mile in your research elevates your achievement 10-fold.
Tips4: Use a dictionary
Make  sure you have a access to a dictionary when you’re reading. You can often figure out the meaning of an unfamiliar word by using context clues, but sometimes you can’t.  Rather than simply skipping  over the words you don’t know, take time to look them up. The results are well worth the effort. Your comprehension will increase greatly, and you’ll build your vocabulary at the same time.

Balancing High School and Part-Time work Part 4

Balancing High School and Part-Time Work
Part 4
He reminds students that “the activities and courses students choose very considerably, so it’s important for young people to keep their individual situations clearly in mind. “MacGowan  continues, “ For example, student actors should allow for the fact that they won’t have as much time during performance seasons. Students athletes need to remember the times of the year that they’ll be tied up with games and practices. Other students who are in classes that make considerable demands outside of the classroom must keep that reality.

student success statement

Student Success Statement
“Choosing the right is always the right thing to do.”
Alex Linares
Reflection: Choosing the right is always the right thing to do because good things happen to good people. Bad things will always happen to bad people! If you do something good to someone one day, life will repay the favor. One day. But never choose the right to benefit from, choose the right because it’s the right thing to do!

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company”
Anon
I agree with this statement because does it really matter to look cool in front of people. Being lonely because you chose the right is better than having company over like the cops because of choosing the wrong.

10 Time Management Tips for Students
Tips 1-4
Organize Your Life
Managing your time will is important element of success—especially if you’re a student. If you set priorities that fit your needs and lifestyle, you’ll have a better chance of achieving your goals. Here are some tips for managing control of your time and organizing your life.
Tip 1.  Make  a  To- Do  List  Everyday.
Put things that are most important at the top and do them first. And don’t forget to reward your self for your accomplishments.
Tip 2.  Use  Spare  Minutes  Wisely
When you’re commuting on the bus or train, use the time to get reading done.
Tips 3.  It’s  Okay  To  Say  No.
If your friend asks you to go to a movie on a Thursday night and you have an exam the next morning, realize that it’s okay to say no. Keep your short- and long- term priorities in mind.
Tip 4.  Find  the  Right  Time.
You’ll work more efficiently if your figure out when you do your best work. For example, if your brain handles math better in the afternoon, don’t wait to do it until late at night.

Student Success Statment

Student Success Statement
“Improvement begins with I”
Anon
You can’t change who you are, you can only improve. I have to agree with this statement because if you want to change something, you have to start with your self. That’s the only way things will get better. You must become a better person by improving in things that you need to work on.

Reflection

Student Success Statement
“Its is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good).”
Joseph Smith
Reflection: This quotes means that to do good you will always have to choose the right. To be all that you can be good to show others that being good is awesome and that there comes great things in life for those who CHOOSE THE RIGHT!. Also some people will try and stop you but just because you are above them. Those type of people will always try to bring you down but just have your head up high and do what you have to do to do right. And ignore the ignorant and avoid those bad ones that don’t care about there work in life. You just stay on your path.

Study for Multiple Practice

Study for Multiple Exams
Part 3
English, math, foreign language tips: PREACTICE – especially foreign language. It’s hard to succeed in a foreign language class if you are just showing and doing the work. But if you are in your room and look at objects and try to say them in a language you are learning it actually helps. Or if you send a simple text to a friend think about it, can you translate that to German or Spanish? These are the little things that will help. Here are my final words of wisdom for students who want to get better grades in college: Time management and organization are critical key factors to success in college. And never be afraid to go ask your teacher for help. They have office hours for a reason- use them!
CHOOSE  THE  RIGHT!
