RECITE

AT THE END OF EACH SECTION, LOOK UP FROM THE TEXT AND IN YOUR WORDS RECITE AN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTIONS FOR THAT QUESTION FOR THAT SECTION. THEN WRITE DOWN YOUR ANSWER. BE SURE TO PROVIDE EXAMPLES THAT SUPPORT IT.

NOW THAT REPEAT THE QUESTION, READ AND RECITE STEPS FOR EACH SECTION OF THE CHAPTER. FIRST ASK A QUESTION FOR THE NEXT SECTION. THEN READ TO FIND THE ANSWER. FINALLY, RECITE THE ANSWER IN YOUR WORDS AND JOT IT DOWN. THE WRITTEN QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CAN HELP YOU STUDY IN THE FUTURE.

I AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T YOUR SELF TO THAT ONE GOAL AND MAKE UP EXCUSES LIKE YOUR NOT GOOD ENOUGH, THEN YOU WON'T MAKE IT. IF YOU KNOW YOUR KNOW YOUR NOT GOOD ENOUGH BUT YOU STILL GIVE IT YOUR 100%, IT INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF MAKING IT.

Question

As you survey the text, ask a question for each section. Ask what, why, how, when, who and where questions as they each relate to the content. Here’s how you can create questions.

·         Turn the title, headings or subheadings into questions.

·         Rewrite the questions at the end of the chapter or after each subheading in your own questions

Write down your questions. Questions help you pay attention, understand the text better and recall the information more easily later on.

Read

Read one section of the chapter at any time, actively looking for an answer to your question for that section. Pay attention to bold and italicized text that authors use to make important points.

Be sure to review everything in the section, including tables, graphs, illustrations- these features can communicate an idea more powerfully than written text.

I agree with this statement because if you don't act now, you won't do anything in life. In my case, i would love to be a musician one day, but what's the point if I don't do anything about it and just sit around and wait for the opportunity to come. That is not the way it works. You must go knocking on opportunity's door and go get what you want!

5 tips for success

Tip 5: Keep a list of Questions

When you feel confused about something you’re reading, write down any questions you have. Sometimes your questions are answered as you read further. Of not, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Remember, teachers create assignments; they’ve read the texts and are familiar with them. When you have specific questions, your teachers can provide answers that will help you better understand the material. Learning is rooted in questions developed and asked by the learner.

Asking questions to yourself, to the teacher, and to others, is a great learning method. When you cease to ask questions, you cease to exist to a great extend. Read actively by silently asking questions as you read. Questioning immerses you into the material you are reading and therefor will expand your mental capacities more than almost anything  else.

The philosopher Sir Francis Bacon said, “knowledge is power.” Improving your reading comprehension is the key to gaining important knowledge and making the most of your education. So pick up a book … and pen.

This rule is even more important inc life than basketball. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better. By applying yourself tot he task of becoming a little better each and every day, over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never make up for a lost day."

I agree with this statement because becoming the best you can be will not only benefit you in what you want to do, but it will set an example for those who want to do the same but have doubts about themselves.
